Nestled in hills of Rancho Santa Fe sits a magical piece of heaven perfect to hold a wedding of any size. In that piece of heaven, surrounded by an intimate gathering of 45 close friends and family, Jessica and Marq tied-the-knot with super sweet & custom vows at Rancho Valencia Resort and Spa. Their loved ones gathered, standing in a circle around the two, with champagne and beer in hand, just exactly as Jessica had envisioned. She pictured something very informal yet full of elegance and love. Catherine from CBS Lifestylist nailed a clean, elegant palate that came to life with texture and softness.
Jessica and Marq, thank you for welcoming me to capture your story on your wedding day. From Jessica writing her vows in her suite while getting ready, to your 1st-look and your sweet ‘thank you’ toast . Your wedding day at Rancho Valencia was nothing short of beautiful and I’m thankful to have documented it. Xoxo, Patty
Such an awesome shot by my 2nd shooter, Laura!

We LOVE your comments! Always feel free to send us some love below!
I always get a huge smile on my face & giddy when I get asked to do pregnancy photos. Extra giddy when I know the couple. Extra, extra giddy when they both are photographers and they chose me to document this time of their lives. I love that they trusted me to do this!
I met Laura when I booked her for a boudoir party last January. She is a photographer as well, and, a knockout! So I figured her boudoir session would be pretty epic considering the above. Well, it was pretty ahh-mazing. At the time of her boudoir session, her husband was working on a film production for a couple of months in another state. She saved her boudoir album for a surprise when she visited him on location {last March}.
Well, if you can do the math, and you figure her photos were pretty epic, you do the guessing! Hehe.
Nevertheless, it’s such a special story and ending. Baby Tucker Cale Walking Eagle was born New Year’s Eve 2013 {naturally} and is just as cute as his mommy and daddy. Congratulations Laura and Clayton on becoming parents and knowing the most indescribable love in the world.

My fave photo!! Love the light, and we barely caught it. We worked hard for it, right Laura?
Another favorite. Dad talking to baby – so, so precious.
And, one of baby Tucker taken by his talented mommy and daddy…
We’d LOVE to hear from you as your comments below are very appreciated and LOVED!
When creating the “best – of” spread, I couldn’t help but feel VERY thankful for so many reasons in my career. Each client that I had the honor of photographing this year, picked me. They chose me to create tangible keepsakes for their family – For their family to pass down from generation to generation. Some are lifelong friends, some are 2nd, 3rd and even 4th returning clients, and some are new; and for that, my heart melts and I am grateful. Very grateful.
I chose this path to build this business because it is my passion. I still get nervous before each photo shoot {Weddings more than portrait sessions, for obvious reasons}. I still meticulously prep an hour or two before each photo shoot. That attention-to-detail involves cleaning my lenses, my camera, my camera bag, visualizing what to do with the family, kid or bride. I get my Americano coffee, my water and my walnuts and energy bar. And, I’m off. I think this routine works pretty great, right?
Thank you to each and every one of you that trusted in me and my passion. Again, and again. I am so honored to be your go-to-gal for your joyous memories. Hope to see you in 2014 and beyond! xoxo, Patty
Surrounded by their closest friends and family with mini champagne bottles in hand, Bethany + Adam’s rooftop wedding at The Ultimate Skybox, in Downtown San Diego was without-a-doubt breathtaking. At dusk, they tied-the-knot overlooking Petco Park, a 180 degree view of downtown San Diego and a killer ocean view. Prior in the day, continuing the urban theme, Bethany and Adam both got ready at Hotel Indigo {also overlooking Petco Park!}. An intimate rooftop first-look was arranged so they could have peaceful and unforgettable moment before the busyness of their day began. Looooved their first look!
Adam and Bethany own a condo across the street from The Ultimate Skybox, so an “urban vibe” is what they really wanted to be surrounded by; they also call The East Village Home. This is also where they had their engagement session so their urban theme carried on til their wedding day. Bethany’s Lazaro dress {who he personally autographed his sketch of Bethany’s dress the day she met him at a trunk show}, sapphire ring, her gold and sparkly shoes, the mashed potato bar, mini champagne drinks, lots of dancing, celebrating and all the modern love that came with it made their wedding day complete with “urban love”.
Adam + Bethany, I am truly thankful that our paths crossed (at a wedding networking event!) and thank you dearly for choosing me to document the abundant love you two shared that day at The Ultimate Skybox; it was a blast and an honor! Xo. Patty

Melody and Jared wanted a secluded and earthy location for their {as I call it “J.Crew” inspired) engagement session. So we set out for their location and a little small urban action prior to the field. We spontaneously hit up RELM, a cute wine bar in San Elijo Hills, crashed a well-lit small home store and then headed to one of my favorite fields. Hand-in-hand, they warmed up to the camera, walked through the fields and at times, got silly. Loved that!
These two met Melody’s 1st day of work {1st job straight out of college}. They worked together for about a year and a half when Melody was going to set him up with her best friend…It was then that melody discovered her feelings for him, and too, Jared felt the same. I guess this is where you say, the rest is history.
While San Francisco is where they live, they will tie the knot in sunny Carlsbad at a coastal venue in May 2014. Thank you Melody and Jared for the honor to capture your love before your big day! Xo
Love their expressions here.
Relm wine bar is so awesome! It’s a must try! There is one in Carlsbad and San Elijo Hills.
The light!!! Amazing!
